Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) se osnovao 18. Marta 1960 godine i predstavlja prvu organizaciju koja je strogo zaduzena za promociju turizma u Tajlanadu. TAT pruza raznovrsne turisticke informacije i podatke siroj javnosti, promovise Tajland kao turisticku destinaciju da bi privukao u sto vecoj meri turiste iz Evrope i Amerike da putuju u Tajland i radi u kooperaciji sa svim predstavnicima iz turisticke bresle. Od kad se otvorilo prvo predstavnistvo TAT-a u Chiang Mai-u 1968 godine, TAT se svake godine sve vise razvijao da bi danas imao 22 predstavnistva u Tajlandu. Takodje TAT ima i predstavnistva u raznim svetskim zemljama - prvo predstavnistvo je bilo otvoreno u New York-u 1965 godine. Od tada, otvoreno je jos 15 predstavnistva u zemljama iz celog sveta.
